I was looking for yoga that was close to me as a newbie yogi. I was intimidated by a studio setting and read great reviews about Liberty Life Yoga! :)
What is it that you LOVE about practicing with Liberty Life Yoga?
The teachers and the convenience of it being right in my building! The classes are designed as drop in so I never feel I skip a beat when I miss classes.
What pose are you currently working with? Your favourite pose? Or a pose that you find challenging? Why?
I am currently working on Sirsaana (Headstand). I'm working on the fear and strength!
Tell us a bit about your yoga journey...
I was a gymnast as a kid, and as I got older the gym wasn't cutting it as as workout for me anymore. I found it boring and mindless. I wanted to try yoga to incorporate my love of body strength and increase my mental strength. I had done hot yoga, but I wanted to challenge myself to more traditional yoga. I was intimidated and quite weak when I started. Mira was my first teacher at LLY, and I found her teaching style really calm and patient (unlike traditional workout teacher I've had before). Then I committed to a regular practice and met Lindsay and Sarah... the energy of the classes are welcoming and I never felt intimidated anymore. I feel incredibly inspired by other yogis around me!
Words of Wisdom for Someone Thinking about trying Liberty Life Yoga...
