Liberty Life Yoga has amazing instructors who inspire me to improve and evolve my practice. Also, LLY has made it possible for me to practice yoga in class on a regular basis. The locations and times of classes are perfect for me. I love the classes and would recommend them to anyone who lives inside or outside of Liberty Village!

What's your name?
  • Laine Bodnar (my maiden name is Jaremey, but I go by Bodnar for the most part now!)
What brought you to Liberty Life Yoga?
  • I first attended a free yoga in the part in summer 2016 that I found out about while walking my dog in Liberty Village Park. Sarah taught the class and she had an amazing energy. I loved it because it was really challenging (i.e., my butt and legs hurt the next day) which is a good thing! When I learned that classes took place regularly in Liberty Village, I started going to them right away. I love how close they are to home, and all of the teachers are amazing.
What are one or two things that you LOVE about practicing with Liberty Life Yoga?
  • The instructors are positive, welcoming and really helpful. I am completely comfortable stepping outside of my comfort zone and being challenged with a new posture or position, which allows me to feel that I'm growing in own practice.
What pose are you currently working with? Your favourite pose? Or a pose that you are finding challenging? Why?
  • One of the poses that's challenging me the most is crow pose. Not only does it involve strength, flexibility and balance, but it also makes me afraid of falling flat on my face. Once I master it I'll feel like I've really accomplished something!
Tell us about your yoga journey...
  • I'm somewhat of a generalist when it comes to sports and working out. Since high school I have dabbled in almost every sport, including soccer, dance, martial arts, pilates and baseball. I've tried yoga here and there, but always quickly found myself distracted by another activity. In recent years, my workouts have been focused on jogging (from 5k to half marathon lengths) and weight training.
  • A few years ago I tried yoga again and found it was a natural compliment to the other activities I was doing - almost like my body needed it. I've been going to classes fairly regularly since, including with Liberty Life Yoga. In fact, with Liberty Life Yoga classes being so close to home, and having such amazing teachers, it's made it a lot easier to go to classes on a regular basis.
Words Of Wisdom For Someone Thinking About Trying Liberty Life Yoga...
  • Liberty Life Yoga teachers really make the difference in what you get out of your classes. Don't hesitate to ask them for help - or to let them know if there's something you want to focus or improve on. I think <I know> they really want the best for their students! :)
