When folks ask me about Restorative Yoga, I often joke and say "it's sleepy time yoga"! After a few "ohhh", "that sounds interesting" comments I then get into how I really feel about the Restorative Yoga practice; to me this is one of the most advanced practices. During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited, and a few of the measurable results of deep relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure, serum triglycerides and blood sugar levels in the blood, the increase of the “good cholesterol” levels, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination, the reduction of muscle tension, insomnia and generalized fatigue.” -Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D

In this blog post, I will share some useful tips on how to go about finding your perfect yoga mat:
This step seems like it’s a no-brainer, but think again. Your yoga mat is where your body sweats and relies on, to achieve the all-important balance for your physical and mental wellbeing. It is the most understated, and yet the foundation upon which you will build your yoga practice, literally!
Here are some key considerations:
Your yoga mat, quite honestly, can make or break your yoga experience. A bit of research and a few extra dollars might save you a lifetime of agony!
